Noteability

A Barbershop Quartet

Dale McKinney, Doug MacKellar, Brian Phillips, Stephen McCall

 Noteability

Noteability is a barbershop quartet based out of Piqua, Ohio. We are all members of the Miami-Shelby Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Combined we have over 60 years of Barbershop singing experience. After winning a novice quartet contest in 1999 we decided to continue to sing together and competed in the Western Divisional Contest of the Johnny Appleseed District. We had a great time and decided to continue to share our love of Barbershop music as a performing quartet.

Brian Phillips, singing Lead, is an experienced quartet man who has been singing for 36 years. He is now retired from Fifth Third Bank, and likes to go to car shows and tend to the miniature horses on the "ranch" near Piqua.

Doug MacKellar, also from Piqua, sings Bass. Doug has been singing barbershop for 21 years and is excited about singing in his first quartet. When Doug is not singing, he is a Collection's Supervisor and full time dad and grandfather.

Dale McKinney is the Baritone and lives in Troy. While he has sung barbershop for only 13 years, he has been singing for a lifetime. (By the way he is the Senior of the quartet). When Dale is not singing, he is a "gentleman of leisure." He is retired, has eight grandchildren and travels to explore the family genealogy.

Stephen McCall, singing Tenor, has been singing barbershop for 14 years. Being the youngest, Steve has a lot of catching up to do on the others. Steve lives in Urbana and is the Chief Deputy Engineer for Champaign County. When Steve is not singing, he enjoys being a dad and golfing.

Noteability can be contacted for performances by calling Stephen at (937) 652-3708.
